About Dr Aung

Dr. Htun obtained his basic medical degree from The Institute of Medicine in Yangon Myanmar (Burma) and came to Australia in 2008. He has since worked in Central Australia as a Resident Medical Officer for 2.5 years and as a Medical Registrar for a year, during which he gained substantial knowledge in Indigenous Health, General Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He furthered his education to achieve a Diploma in Child Health from the University of Sydney in 2011.

In 2012, Dr. Htun moved to Gippsland Region in Victoria to join General Practice Training with SGPT (now EVGPT). As part of extended skill training, he spent 6 months at Melbourne Sexual Health Centre to gain valuable experience in Sexual Health. The Fellowship from the Royal College of General Practitioners was granted in 2014. His interest in Dermatology led him to do a course run by Australian Institute of Dermatology and this conferred him the Australian Dermatology Diploma in 2016.

His special interests in Medicine include (but not limited to) Child Health, Dermatology and Skin Cancer, minor skin surgery, Mental Health, Sexual Health, Chronic Disease Management and Geriatric Medicine. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing badminton and table tennis, loves travelling, and anything IT related surely will catch his attention.
