The Medical Clinic is delighted to offer 24-hour Holter monitoring onsite. It allows you to go on with your daily activities while continuously monitoring your cardiac rhythm.
There is usually minimal wait time for the appointment and it is fitted and removed here in the clinic by the nurse. The machine is small, lightweight and offers minimal disruption to your day
4 ECG dots are attached to your chest the monitor is connected to them. A 5th dot is attached mid chest which holds the small monitoring device. The device remains connected for 24 hours (or as long as your GP requests). An appointment is booked 24 hours later for removal of the monitor. The report is usually back within 48 hours and a follow up appointment can be made with your GP.
The monitor continuously records your cardiac rhythm for the entire time it is on. You are encouraged to go about your usual daily activities, excluding a shower or anything that will get the monitor wet.
This can show your GP how your heart fluctuates over the day and night. It is a non-invasive way to monitor your heart and pick up any potential abnormalities.

There is no out of pocket cost, it is a fully bulk billed service.
A $100 cash bond is taken at the time of fitting and is returned to you at the time the machine is returned to the clinic.
